I'm a Christian, and I go to a Catholic Church, but I'm not a fan of Papal leadership or of any church leadership that goes beyond the father(s) at the churches.

I didn't like the propagandist messaging that came from Pope Francis pertaining to the USA's reluctance to accept migrants, and I didn't like how Catholic Charities (during his reign) funded attorneys who advocated for illegal immigration into the USA.

Now I strongly suspect that this new pope was chosen (not elected but chosen) by the world elite because 1) who does the world elite despise more than anybody? (Trump) 2) what kind of pope do they want? (One who will oppose Trump) 3) Where is this new pope from and what's his background? (Trump-hating leftist from Chicago.)

Well, duh. There is "election" of the Pope and never has.

But remember that the Catholic Church **was** (and potentially, still is) part of the Elitists who want to rule over all of us.

The Church just does it more "softly".

because 1) who does the world elite despise
more than anybody? (Trump) 2) what kind of pope do they want? (One who will oppose Trump) 3) Where is this new pope from and what's his background? (Trump-hating leftist from Chicago.)

I actually stopped caring what the Pope says/does/etc. a long time ago and I see no reason today to change that.

And by "soft" I mean that they "encourage" that we give up all our thinking to the church "elders" and treat dissadents like wayward children. As opposed to the Elitists of today who want to pass laws to take all our rights away.

He won't. He's another Woke Pope and yet another reason that religion is not necessairly the opposite of rule by the Elitists.

Once again, I sincerely hope you're not taking communion. When speaking on matters of faith and ethics, the pope is infallible, being the direct successor of St. Peter.

Chosen is correct. Pope Leo XIV was chosen by God, through the prayers of the faithful and the ballots cast by the sacred college of cardinals.

Perhaps you should find a different Church to attend if you are not Catholic, as such blasphemy could surely lead to your excommunication, otherwise.

Or, maybe this entire religion thing is just a pile of crap made up to control the people.

I spent nearly a dozen years going to Catholic schools with daily relgious studies. I participated in (and led) youth retreats and services. I taught night school courses for younger kids. I went to Denver in 1993 for World Youth Day and was mere inches from Pope John Paul II at one point.

In those Catholic schools I also learned science, mathematics, history, English, a bit of German, some French, and a whole bunch of other things.

Those Catholic schools made me into the atheist I am today.

I haven't noticed it until recently. Part of it has to do with (for Catholics) having a cool priest.

During President Trump's first term we used to pray for him at mass. It was awesome. But now there's this new priest who is a little bit crazy and all of a sudden Psalm 100 ("We are sheep") is his favorite jam.

So I think the Catholic church (some of them at least) are going through some anti-Trump changes that are probably being sponsored by people with big bucks.

You do know that "Woke", in its original definition and meaning, is contextually the same as "Awake" from Ray Nelson's short story "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" published in 1963?

It's the story that inspired the John Carpenter's 1988 film: They Live. Which, even though it cast Rowdy Roddy Piper as the lead, still manages to be a great flick.
